South-central Rajasthan, India.

Covers 610.528 sq. km across Udaipur,  Rajsamand, and Pali districts.

Geography:

Located in the Aravalli hills, featuring four  ranges: Kumbhalgarh, Desuri, Sadri, and Bokhada.

Coordinates:73°02'–73°30' E & 25°0'–25°40' N.

Altitude: 275m to 1155m.

Acts as a natural barrier against the Thar  Desert.

Climate:

Semi-dry, influenced by the Thar Desert.

Summer: 30°C to 48°C.

Monsoon: July to Sept, average rainfall  725mm.

Winter: 10°C to 25°C.

Predominantly tropical dry deciduous forests.

Mammals: Sloth bear, Indian hare, wild boar,  four-horned antelope, leopard, striped hyena, civet, wolf, sambar, chinkara.

Birds:

 201 species, including threatened species like the white-rumped vulture and the Indian skimmer.

Reptiles, amphibians, and a variety of invertebrates are also present.

Used as hunting grounds by the Maharajah of Jodhpur in the early 20th century.

Inhabitants: Pastoralists like the Raika, Bhil, Bhil Meena, and Garasia tribes.
